Govt to take tough decisions on IMF, says State Minister of Finance

Islamabad: State Minister of Finance Aisha Ghaus Pasha said that government will have to take tough decisions on IMF. Talking to media here, Aisha Ghaus Pasha said that IMF programme is indispensable for recovery of country’s economy. Aisha Ghaus Pasha said that government wants to restore IMF program soon. Many of IMF’s reservations have been removed.
She said that meeting regarding IMF programme will be held today. Tough decisions will have to be made to revive IMF programme. She mentioned that all population regardless classes will bear burden due to ongoing circumstances.
Minister of State for Finance said that government wishes that common man should not be overburdened. Government is trying to put more burden on rich people. Aisha Ghaus said that government has not yet decided how much tax will be levied in ordinance.
Government has prepared mini-budget of more than one hundred and fifty billion rupees, for which an ordinance will be brought this month. Implementation of mini budget will start from February 1, 2023.
