Islamabad: Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar said government will not accept if Supreme Court’s decision on sensitive and important issue is announced in haste.

“We will not accept if decision is made in haste on such sensitive and important issue. We have tried our best to maintain institution’s sanctity,” Tarar said during session of National Assembly, adding that this is same institution which gave nine years, instead of three months, to dictator. He mentioned that Attorney General of Pakistan Mansoor Usman Awan asked for formation of six-member bench with judges who weren’t present in bench before. “Now we hear news that verdict has been reserved.”

Tarar said that long consultation was held among ruling coalition on Supreme Court hearing. He added that government had submitted request to become party in case for last six days. “It demanded transparency to be brought to Supreme Court’s proceedings. When representatives of political parties appeared in court today, they expressed displeasure,” minister said.

Tarar mentioned that despite expressing no confidence, bench took matters forward. “Our request was to make bench that is acceptable to all. Decision of four judges against three has come out.”  “Voices of institution’s judges are rising, but they are being suppressed. If decision is made in hurry, then history will write it on black pages.” “I would ask Chief Justice to first fix your own house. First look at your own house and listen to voices rising inside it.”
