KARACHI: Rule of seniority resolved much-debated issue to appoint Chief of Army Staff and Joint Chief Staff Forces Committee thus appointees as well as government deserves congratulation by hearts.

Hashmat Habib President Tehreek-e-Tahafuz-e-Adlia said Chief Justice of Pakistan and Chief Justices of High Courts are appointed smoothly on principle of seniority similarly government applied this principle and two Generals according to their seniority have been shouldered to serve Nation to best of their abilities.

Lawyer said that he hoped that new COAS will discharge his duty strictly in accordance with his oath under Constitution. We are conscious of present situation affecting good name of Armed Forces; therefore, swift action is required to remove all evils enabling people to love their forces from core of their hearts.

Hashmat Habib said oath given to members of Armed Forces bound them to bear true faith and allegiance to Pakistan and uphold Constitution which embodies will of people. They pledge that they will not engage themselves in any political activities whatsoever and they will honestly and faithfully serve Pakistan in Armed services as required by law.

Now it is duty of General Asim Munir to take steps to restore dignity and honour of Armed Forces, to begin with by separating uniform personnel from all positions prevailing in civil administration.

Similarly, business being carried out by Army, Navy or Air Force through their trust organisations should also be free from uniform personnel however ex-servicemen should continue in way these trusts will do business like other trusts of civilians and there will be no complaint.
