Govt making all-out efforts to bring economy out of prevailing quagmire: PM

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said he has put at stake his politics to save state. “A man considers himself above law. He is ready to go to rallies but he finds it difficult to go to courts. Pakistan is facing economic, political and foreign challenges, he said this talking to delegation of Council of Pakistan Newspapers Editors here,

He held that incumbent coalition government is making all-out efforts to bring economy out of prevailing quagmire and put country ahead on path of development and prosperity.

He observed fears of default have been ended now due to prudent policies of government implemented during its eleven months’ rule. About ongoing talks with International Monetary Fund, Prime Minister expressed confidence that agreement with IMF would be inked very soon. He said government has to accept tough conditions of IMF due to previous government’s agreement. He said present government is cognisant of sufferings of common people due to prevailing situation.

He lauded role of all coalition partners for running government’s affairs effectively saying that government is united and moving ahead to bring country out of current situation.

Replying to question he said “Being PML-N President I have directed my party that nomination papers should be filed in Punjab and KP forthwith.”

For first time in 75 years that polls are being held in two provinces and are not being held in two provinces. What will be its results, time will tell. No party including PML-N can escape election. We are extending full-fledged cooperation in this entire process. We will go alongside Election Commission in whatever decisions it makes. Population census process has been started in country, he said adding funds have also been provided.

Election will take place on time, he said adding this is constitutional requirement. If polls are held on time then constitution, law and state will gain strength. He underscored that PML-N has always respected courts. Fake cases were registered against Nawaz Sharif. Fake drug case was registered against Rana Sana Ullah. No one took suo motu notice at that time.
