Govt looks to put country’s economy back on track: PM Shehbaz

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that government was looking to put country’s economy back on track. Delegation of All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS) called on premier. Delegation felicitated PM Shehbaz on assuming office of Prime Minister.
PM Shehbaz Sharif admitted that incumbent government came to power during severe hardships. Admitting that country is facing economic challenges, premier vowed to overcome them.
He said that revival of economy is biggest challenge and topmost priority.He said that plan was underway to modernise revenue collection system.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif resolved to foster bilateral ties with Kuwait. Kuwait Ambassador to Pakistan Nassar Abdulrahman Jasser Almutairi called on Shehbaz Sharif to bolster bilateral relations.
PM Shehbaz underscored Pakistan’s deep-rooted bond with Kuwait and expressed gratitude for Kuwait’s support, extending an invitation to Amir of Kuwait for visit.
Highlighting recent agreements worth $ 10 billion, PM Shehbaz emphasised importance of swift implementation.
Ambassador commended Pakistan’s support during difficult times and expressed Kuwait’s commitment to strengthening ties. PM Shehbaz lauded Ambassador Almutairi’s efforts in enhancing Pakistan-Kuwait relations.
Meanwhile, Shehbaz Sharif directed immediate disciplinary action against officers involved in electricity theft and its facilitation. He gave these directions while chairing review meeting on prevention of electricity theft.
He said those who caused loss of billions of dollars to national exchequer will be punished. Present situation of economy could not bear problem of electricity theft, he added.
