Govt grants conditional permission for sugar export

ISLAMABAD: Minister for industries and production Rana Tanveer Hussain said that government has granted conditional permission for sugar export.
Chairing session of Sugar Advisory Board, government and Pakistan Sugar Mills Association signed an agreement. Government has granted conditional permission for export of 150,000 metric tonnes of sugar, he said. “PSMA will ensure availability of sugar stock and stability in prices of commodity,” Minister said. He said that sugar’s ex-mills price will not be increased at any cost. “All pending payments to farmers will be paid by mills on priority basis,” he said. Sugar Advisory Board will review sugar prices again within 15 days, he further said. “Option of sugar export will be conditioned with stability of prices and availability of stock,” Minister added.
