Govt declares public holiday on Allama Iqbal's 146th birth anniversary

The Pakistani government has officially proclaimed a public holiday on November 9th to honor the 146th anniversary of the birth of the national poet, Allama Muhammad Iqbal. This declaration was made through an official announcement and subsequent notification from the cabinet division.
Allama Iqbal, who was born in Sialkot on November 9, 1877, gained worldwide recognition as the "Poet of the East." He was a celebrated poet, philosopher, and intellectual of the 20th century, earning international renown. Allama Iqbal played a significant role in motivating millions of Muslims in the Indian subcontinent to aspire to attain an independent homeland.
It's important to mention that the public holiday for Iqbal Day was revoked in 2015 but reinstated the following year. On this occasion, special prayers for the advancement and prosperity of Pakistan will be conducted in mosques. Furthermore, there will be a ceremonial changing of the guard at the mausoleum of Allama Iqbal in Lahore.
