Govt believes in freedom of media as an ‘important state pillar’: PM

ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar said government believed in freedom of media and considered it an “Important pillar of state”. Talking to Information Minister Murtaza Solangi at PM House he discussed problems concerning All Pakistan Newspaper Society (APNS), Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE) and media industry.
PM Kakar directed for resolving legitimate demands of media industry and taking necessary steps in this regard. Caretaker PM said that he would continue his interactions with journalists and media persons. Meeting was attended by Information Secretary Zahoor Ahmed, Principal Information Officer Tariq Mahmood Khan and Managing Director Associated Press of Pakistan Muhammad Asim Khichi.
