ISLAMABAD: Government banned sheesha smoking across Pakistan, reports said that as per details, sale of sheesha will be banned in hotels, restaurants and public spaces. Opening of new sheesha cafes and import and making of ingredients are also banned across country. Sources within health Ministry said that through appropriate amendments ban will be strictly implemented.

After amendment official order on sheesha ban will be issued, sources added. In 2016, government completely banned import of tobacco used in sheesha. Earlier, Islamabad High Court directed local administration to immediately close down all sheesha cafes in federal capital and submit report in this regard. Court directed Islamabad administration to immediately take action against sheesha cafes operating in capital and submit progress report to IHC.
