KARACHI: Sindh government announced to start water sports for people of province at Keenjhar Lake near Thatta District. Sindh Minister Culture and Tourism Zulfiqar Shah in his statement announced that water sports activities have been commenced at Keenjhar Lake on trial basis, adding that water sports and paragliding will be started regularly soon.

In June last year, Sindh government had decided to build world-class tourist center at Keenjhar Lake. Meeting of steering committee was held under Energy Minister Imtiaz Shaikh, in which Kuwait Investment Agency gave briefing regarding modern resort. Imtiaz Sheikh said that government is committed to make Keenjhar Lake an attractive tourist destination, where all modern facilities will be provided to tourists.

Briefing said that this modern resort will be equipped with latest facilities and its construction will attract domestic and foreign tourists to resort. Minister said that Keenjhar Lake covers an area of ??24 km, suitable place is being determined for construction of modern resort and completion of this project will earn domestic and foreign exchange.
