Govt announces to keep petrol, diesel prices unchanged

ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar announced to keep prices of petrol and diesel unchanged. Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said that prices of petrol and diesel will remain unchanged. Decision to keep petroleum products prices unchanged is taken in view of international rates.
Earlier, Minister of Defence of Pakistan Khawaja Asif said that petrol prices will be reduced further before budget 2023-24. He said that International Monetary Fund has no issues with targeted subsidies.
On May 31, government reduced prices of petrol, diesel and other petroleum products for 15 days. Petrol price reduced by Rs 8 per litre to Rs 262, diesel price by Rs 5 per litre to Rs 253 and light diesel by Rs 5 to Rs 147 per litre for next 15 days timm June 15. No change was made in kerosene price which is stable at Rs 164.70 per litre. New prices of petroleum prices came into effect from June 15 midnight.
