Govt announces 8-rupee cut in petrol price

Islamabad: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar announced that price of petrol was being reduced by Rs 8 and high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs 5 per litre for next fortnight. New prices of petrol and HSD are Rs 262 and Rs 253 per litre respectively.

Price of light diesel oil was also slashed by Rs 5 per litre to Rs 147.68 while price for kerosene oil remained unchanged at Rs 164.07.

In video address, he said that there was no substantial change in international prices of petroleum products in last 15 days and neither had rupee appreciated against dollar.

“But government tried to create as much room as possible to provide relief to people,” he said.
