ISLAMABAD: Federal government accepted Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan’s demand seeking an extension in deadline for registration of families in digital census through “Self-enumeration”.

Demand was accepted after delegation of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif here. Sources told that government accepted party’s demand to extend deadline for self-enumeration by at least 10 days. Meeting also decided that every single flat will be marked instead of main entrance of multi-storey buildings.

Sources further claimed that PM Shehbaz while accepted demands directed authorities concerned to issue formal order in this regard. During meeting, MQM-P delegation expressed serious concern over rising inflation in country. They discussed country’s overall political situation and concerns regarding implementation of agreements. Party’s convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui expressed reservations over non-fulfilment of agreement signed with Pakistan Peoples’ Party.

Two days earlier, MQM-P objected to time allotted for carrying out census while calling for extending time specified for self-enumeration, house enumeration and census.
