Karachi: Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tesori participated in the prize distribution ceremony of Sindh Qualifying Chess Champion. Chess Federation of Pakistan President Hanif Qureshi welcomed Sindh Governor. Speaking at the event, Governor Sindh said that he pays tribute to the achievements of the talented chess players.

He said that chess has a long and glorious history of 1500 years, it originated in the ancient civilization of the Indus Valley, which is a proof of the wonderful cultural heritage of this region. Spread across the world, it is a game that transcends borders, language and culture and captivates the minds of all people. He said that the extraordinary skill, passion, perseverance and discipline of chess players made them Leading up to this tournament, this tournament will give them an opportunity to showcase their skills not only at the provincial but also at the national and international levels. The game also fosters critical thinking, strategic planning, and cultural values. He said that chess is a game that develops life skills and in this regard those represented in national chess championships and international competitions deserve congratulations.
