Governor Tessori says ‘received funds from Asif Zardari for Karachi’

KARACHI: Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori claimed that he received funds from Pakistan Peoples’ Party co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari and Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah for development of Karachi.
Talking to journalists during his visit to Paper Market, Governor Tessori said that ancient Paper Market is in dilapidated state where accidents are common due to open manholes and sewerage lines.
Tessori said that he has given responsibility to Karachi Administrator to cover manholes and sewerage lines. He complained that they do not have funds for paying salaries of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation employees. He said that Karachiites can contact him via Governor House helpline or Twitter account.
Governor Tessori said that it is unfortunate that whole metropolis is in dilapidated state and he is fully aware of miseries of Karachiites.
“I have talked to CM regarding Karachi development works. I have given orders to Karachi administrator to improve situation in four hospitals. All four hospitals were constructed in accordance with standards of South City Hospital.”
He said that Karachi is stronghold of mafias and he is fighting with them. “I will never step back from working for betterment of Karachi. Street crime is one of biggest issues of this city and it is necessary to address this issue as top priority.”
During his visit, Governor met labourers working to cover nullah and awarded them Rs 2,000 prize money.
