Governor Tessori inaugurates tent city set up by Saylani in cooperation with AFAD

KARACHI: The tent city has the capacity to accommodate 1000 flood victims, food, clean drinking water, medicines and medical facilities will be provided. Karachi: Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori inaugurated tent city established by Saylani Welfare International in cooperation with Turkish organisation AFAD in Dadu district of Mihar.

Maulana Bashir Farooqui head of Welfare International was also with him. This tent city has capacity to accommodate 1,000 flood victims, victims will be given food, clean drinking water, medicine and treatment facilities in tent city, a school, RO plant and a masjid have also been built in tent city.

Governor asked victims in tent city about hardships they faced and inquired about children in school about their studies. Talking to media later, Governor said that this is a big tragedy, they are trying to solve problems of people and they are with affected people in this hour of difficulty. He said that entire focus of government is on drainage of flood water, while providing all possible facilities to people in camps through NDMA and PDMA. 

He said that due to improvement of flood water situation, victims have started returning to their homes in many areas, thanks to support of philanthropists and government efforts, victims are returning to their homes. He said that special attention is being given to restoration of infrastructure. He said that it is national duty of all of us to serve suffering humanity without discrimination of race and colour.  Governor said that this is not time to spread chaos but to establish unity and consensus.

And go out with food and reach flood victims of Sindh, all political parties should forget their differences and come together on single agenda of helping flood victims. He said that doors of Governor House are open for everyone, soon all departments involved in rehabilitation of flood victims will have a meeting in Governor House.
