Governor Tessori inaugurates Arts Council District Central chapter

KARACHI: District Central Jinnah Cultural Complex was inaugurated by Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori along with President Arts Council Ahmad Shah and members of governing body.

Jinnah Cultural Complex in New Karachi was formally handed over to Arts Council Karachi. In opening ceremony Secretary Arts Council Ijaz Farooqui, Vice President Munawar Saeed, members of governing body, political leader Khawaja Izhar ul Hasan, Khanzada, literary personality Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui and various social and literary personalities participated.

Governor said that literary and intellectual personalities live in New Karachi after 75 years at this age they will get chance to watch programmes here. Many such buildings are abandoned in city. Ahmed Shah is professional man who showed an institution like Arts Council standing on its feet, how long we will humiliate each other, now only name is left, no one is ready to do work, there is no balance in anything, our education system is double standard. Yes, economy and society of Pakistan is declining, there is no balance in society, difference in education system has reached extreme, he said. If country wants to move forward, circle of differences will have to be broken.

Ahmad Shah said that today is beginning of dawn of love, I am not person of any party but of culture, he said that population of District Central is more than many countries, North Nazimabad was supposed to be capital, we and our rulers made mistakes.  I faced many problems in coming here, there were piles of garbage here but Sindh Department with efforts of DC Central Taha Saleem succeeded, he said. Our many members live here but condition of libraries is very bad, our elders worked together with us, who are no longer in this world, hey said.

Khawaja Izhar ul Hassan said that there is history, an attempt was made to occupy it and mood of people of New Karachi is different. God made it possible to build this building. Culture is big sector all over world, you are earning name all over world, this is good thing, he said. Pirzada Qasim Raza said, “I see peace in turmoil here and satisfaction in discontent. Ahmed Shah is working at global level is very good.”

Taha Saleem said that today is historic day, we cannot move forward without honouring writers and artists, we should give free CSS education. He said that Jinnah Cultural Complex is best place for people of New Karachi
