‘Governor Tessori inaugurates 7th census’

Karachi: Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori inaugurated seventh census in Governor House (GH). Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah and Provincial Census Commissioner Rafiq Barro were also present. Talking to media Governor said that accurate data is necessary for fair distribution of resources, so census staff should ensure accurate data. He said that work of institution is to provide facilities to people. He asked people to fully cooperate with census team. He said that NADRA should also be included for verification of census, so that any Pakistani can verify his household and census with it. Kamran Tessori said that it should be ensured that concerns of people of last census are removed, he said that even after 75 years we are stuck in many things.
Nasir Hussain Shah said that media should provide awareness about census. Provincial Census Commissioner Rafiq Barro said that 43,838 blocks have been created for this census, while in previous census there were 38,999 blocks in province.
Meanwhile, team of National Forum for Environment and Health and Governor discussed clean and green project of Karachi, need and importance of plantation and other issues.
Naeem Qureshi, Nadeem Ashraf, Raqiyya Naeem, Anees Younis, Qaiser Waheed and Talha meeting with Tessori highlighted plantation, role of National Forum in this regard and other matters of mutual interest.
Governor said that plan of clean and green Karachi is being followed, in this regard, administrator of Karachi is working under same vision. He said that we want to give clean environment to citizens of Karachi.
Moreover, team of Pakistan Tea Association and Governor discussed difficulties being faced in importing raw tea, detention charges on containers, demurrages and other issues.
Chairman of Association Zeeshan Paracha, former Chairman Aman Paracha, Khalil Paracha and Khurram Tariq Saeed briefed Tessori about issues.
Governor called Governor State Bank to solve issues during meeting. He said that companies associated with tea sector contribute huge sums of money to country's revenue. Import of tea under barter system should be considered as Kenya is importing rice and surgical items.
