Governor Tessori, Chinese CG inaugurate Pak-China Friendship Park

Karachi: Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori along with Consul General of China Yang Yundong inaugurated Pak China Friendship Park. Consul Generals of different countries, Administrator Karachi Dr. Saifur Rehman and senior officials were present. Governor said that inauguration of park is wonderful manifestation of Pakistan-China bilateral relations, relationship of Pakistan-China friendship is deepen than sea and higher than Himalayas. He said that construction of beautiful park is welcome for atmosphere in city. In this regard, measures are being taken on priority for renovation of parks, intersections and green belts in city.

He said that Karachi belongs to all of us, it is our collective responsibility to take care of it. He said that after end of encroachment, park is beautiful gift for residents of area. I ask people of area to take care of it and do not allow encroachments to be established here again. Chinese Consul General said that China attaches great importance to relationship with Pakistan, Gwadar Port, Thar Coal projects are proofs of Pakistan-China eternal friendship. He said that Pak China Friendship Park is another proof of this friendship. Dr. Saifur Rahman said that opening of park is manifestation that China also wants to see Karachi beautiful. He said that special attention is being given to these parks to increase beauty of city. He said that Karachi Municipality is working day and night to give city its rightful status.

Meanwhile, Kamran Tessori said that emergency measures are being taken in view of storm and in this regard constant contact with relevant authorities is intact. More than 15 thousand people being shifted from places will be given ration bags from Governor Houses.

Addressing emergency press conference at Governor House he said that measures are being taken to distribute 10,000 ration bags to people of coastal belt in anticipation of possible cyclone situation.

They have to show their ID card for ration relief. Governor said that helpline 1366 of Governor House will remain active 24 hours in this difficult situation. Officials of KMC are directed to be vigilant in this regard.

Director General Sindh Rangers and Navy officials, Chairman NDMA are also alert on this matter. I am in touch with Commissioner Karachi, Administrator Karachi and high authorities regarding storm. Pakistan Army is seen as most active in this respect, he added.
