‘Governor Sindh vows for effective utilisation of IT education at length’

Karachi: Swiss Ambassador Georg Steiner and Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori discussed Pakistan-Switzerland relations, measures to increase them, promotion of bilateral trade, investment opportunities in various sectors in province and matters of mutual interest. Governor said that Pakistan-Switzerland bilateral relations are becoming stable with time, diplomacy is playing an important role in promotion of bilateral relations in this regard role of Georg Steiner cannot be forgotten.

He said that with investment of Switzerland, eradication of poverty in region, wide employment opportunities and prosperity are certain. Agriculture and others are included. He said that there are opportunities to increase cooperation between Pakistan and Switzerland in various fields, Swiss investors can benefit from favourable investment conditions in province. Government will provide all possible facilities to investors. Georg Steiner said that Swiss investors are very interested in investing in various sectors. Later, Governor conducted visit of Ambassador to historical room and office of Father of the Nation Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and briefed him in detail about items used by Father of the Nation. Earlier, Swiss Ambassador Georg Steiner rang bell of hope along with Sindh Governor. Governor informed Swiss Ambassador about aims and objectives of bell of hope. George Steiner inspected ration bags distributed under powerful Pakistan programme. He appreciated Governor’s public welfare initiatives.

Meanwhile, Governor inaugurated Sindh IT Gate at Gate No. 4 of Governor House. JDC Chief Zafar Abbas, Children of Adam CEO Shahzad Sidon and others were present. Later talking to media, Governor said that he is giving priority to IT sector  to promote innovation because development of modern age is dependent on information technology. Applications of 10 lakh candidates have been received so far for admission in IT courses in Governor House. In first phase, one lakh candidates will be selected through test, while others can also be transferred to other courses. It should be noted that on instructions of Governor, requests have been received from all over province to conduct three major Information Technology courses, Artificial Intelligence, Metaverse and Web 3 in Governor House. Governor said that list of roll numbers of candidates for test will be released on social media accounts. He said that Church, YMC and Commerce College have offered to park vehicles of candidates taking test in front of Gate 4. In response to question, he said that since he had been appointed as Governor, he has been helping poor, deserving, white-collar needy with support of philanthropists, friends and others.

Responding to another question, Governor said that it is our good fortune that everyone seems to be keen to participate in good works now. Governor thanked media, which gave full support at every stage and publicised each and every work that brought awareness to public.
