Governor Sindh, Olympian Islahuddin visit Dr. MA Shah Hockey Academy North Nazimabad

Karachi:  Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori and Olympian Islahuddin visited Dr. MA Shah Hockey Academy North Nazimabad and reviewed the various departments of the academy. The organizers gave a detailed briefing to Governor Sindh regarding the academy.

Captain and coach and spirit of the academy Islahuddin, former Olympian Qamar Ibrahim, Sameer Ali, Muhammad Ali and others were also present. Governor Sindh said that hockey is a national sport and the measures are commendable for it.  While appreciating the facilities provided in the academy, Governor Sindh said that high quality players can be prepared by training youth in hockey, in this regard, for the national sport. North Nazimabad Hockey Academy will prove to be important, more such academy will give more boost to hockey.

Governor Sindh said that he congratulates the team for winning the bronze medal after 11 years in the Azlan Shah Hockey Tournament and will soon invite the team to the Governor House. Former captain and coach of the national hockey team Islahuddin Siddiqui said that flood lights have been installed in the academy while blue astro turf has been laid and currently 250 children are receiving training in the academy. Meanwhile, A 7-member delegation of North Nazimabad Gymkhana met Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tesuri at Governor House. The delegation was headed by Feroze Ahmed Lari. In the meeting, the problems faced by the gymnasium, increase in healthy activities and maximum involvement of the youth were discussed among other issues. On this occasion, Governor Sindh said that the youth is getting an opportunity to participate in healthy activities from the gymkhana while the gymkhana is also an effective means of mutual communication. He further said that the gymnasium is providing excellent facilities for the residents of North Nazimabad.
