Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori vows to start IT courses, gym construction at NPC

KARACHI: Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori has announced construction of gym and launch of IT courses under Governor's Initiative at National Press Club Islamabad. He made this announcement during meeting with 17-member delegation from National Press Club Islamabad, led by President Azhar Jatoi at Sindh Governor House.
Delegation had requested establishment of gym and IT courses during meeting.
During discussion, topics such as role of journalism in establishing and strengthening democracy, promotion of higher education in province, public service and economic stability were also deliberated upon.
Governor Tessori expressed his admiration for contributions of journalistic community, acknowledging their key role in upholding democracy. He stated, "We cannot forget services of journalism."
He emphasised his commitment to public service and mentioned that this dedication earned him title of "People's Governor" due to his direct engagement with public.
He highlighted distribution of over 700,000 ration bags to needy and his ongoing efforts to support underprivileged. He spoke about his mission to skill Pakistan's youth, with over 50,000 young people currently enrolled in free IT courses at Governor House.
These trainees are earning between $ 300 and $ 600 per month, with potential to increase their earnings to $ 1,200 after course completion. Tessori revealed plans to expand IT courses to Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Sukkur and Larkana, aiming to make Sindh an IT hub.
He discussed various ongoing projects to support needy, including interest-free loans ranging from Rs. 100,000 to Rs. 10 million based on business proposals, breakfast programmes for school children and the distribution of sewing machines to women to enable them to earn living.
He added that financial assistance is also being provided for medical treatment. He noted historic celebrations held at Governor House on August 14 and September 6, with venue open to over 3.2 million visitors thus far.
Additionally, Tessori mentioned hosting Dr. Zakir Naik at Governor House, where people from all sects and religions were united. He praised connection forged between industrialists, businessmen, and traders through Governor House initiatives.
Furthermore, Google certification programmes are being offered for IT students and strong relations with diplomats have been established.
He celebrated national hero Arshad Nadeem with historic event in his honour and presented shield to Shahzaib Rind for his championship win.
Secretary of National Press Club Islamabad, Nayyar Ali, informed Governor that club has 3,200 members, including 300 female journalists, with camp office in Rawalpindi.
