Governor Sindh announces celebrating 'Mohajir Culture Day' on Dec 24

KARACHI: Governor of Sindh, Kamran Khan Tessori, addressed a press conference yesterday, announcing a grand celebration of Mohajir Culture Day on December 24 at the Governor House.

The event promises to be a spectacular showcase of Mohajir culture, with a massive stage setup, documentary screenings, and a fireworks display. Renowned Pakistani singers, including Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Atif Aslam, and Ali Zafar, are expected to perform at the event.

Governor Tessori emphasized that the event is open to the public, and the gates of the Governor House will remain open for all to attend. He also highlighted the importance of promoting cultural diversity and inclusivity, stating that "culture is the soul of our nation, and we have celebrated the culture of every ethnicity at the Governor House."

The Governor also announced plans to launch a new website, "Hello Karachi," which will provide a platform for citizens to raise their voices against the city's issues and work together to find solutions.

Meanwhile, Governor Tessori, met with Dr. Farooq Sattar, Senior Vice Chairman of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), and Anis Qaimkhani, Senior Deputy Convener, at the Governor House.

During the meeting, they discussed the current situation, the Governor's initiatives, and other matters of mutual interest. Governor Tessori highlighted that the Governor House has been celebrating cultural days of all ethnicities in a befitting manner.

The Governor assured that concrete steps are being taken to boost Karachi's industrial activities, trade, and economic growth. MQM-P leaders appreciated the Governor's efforts to celebrate Mohajir Day and acknowledged the IT Marriott initiative as a commendable step.

Dr. Farooq Sattar praised the facilities provided to students and termed the Governor's initiative as a remarkable step. He also expressed confidence that contemporary IT courses will brighten the future of young people.

In conclusion, Governor Tessori reiterated his commitment to promoting peace, harmony, and cultural diversity in the province, and invited all citizens to join in the celebration of Mohajir Culture Day.
