PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi declared provincial government complete failure and demanded that Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur seek vote of confidence.

Speaking to media here, Governor Kundi criticised provincial government for its failure to appoint vice chancellors in universities, stating that court had rejected government’s authority on this matter.  He urged provincial government to expedite appointment of vice chancellors and not to jeopardise future of youth. Governor Kundi highlighted that 26 universities in province were currently without vice chancellors.  He expressed concern over potential sale of university land. He vowed that no university land would be sold while he was in office. He pointed out that assembly sessions had been suspended four times, which suggested that chief minister was avoiding calling sessions and had likely lost confidence of assembly members. He urged chief minister to seek vote of confidence as “He (Gandapur) does not have majority in province”.

Regarding summary for Cabinet changes, Kundi mentioned that he was not in hurry to sign it and had not yet consulted legal experts. He noted receiving numerous inquiries about status of summary.  He questioned reasons behind Cabinet reshuffle. He demanded accountability of corrupt and incompetent cabinet members.
