ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said that a conspiracy has been hatched to bring country’s largest political and Pakistan Army close to clash. Addressing a news conference, Imran Khan said that foreign conspiracy was made successful by Mir Jafar and Mir Sadiq.
“When I was removed as prime minister, celebrations started in India and Israel,” PTI Chairman claimed. PTI Chairman said that India had a problem that PTI government and Army were on same page. ‘Today these people are labelling us traitors’, he added.
It has been said in ‘Dawn Leaks’ that Pakistan Army has been involved in terrorism, said Imran Khan.
Imran Khan while revealing Nawaz Sharif’s private meetings with businessmen from Indian said that former president Asif Ali Zardari and former PM Nawaz Sharif spoke out against Pakistan’s interests after Mumbai attacks. He revealed that PPP co-Chairman had sent a message to then US administration through former Ambassador Hussain Haqqani requesting them to save him from Pakistan Army.
“Now, it seems as though we [PTI] are anti-military and they are patriotic,” he said and added his party wants to see Pakistan Army strong. “Every effort has been made to crush PTI but ‘we did not sit silently’,” Imran Khan added.
“And first tactic they have used is in front of you foreign funding case.” He claimed that case was baseless. “They are just trying to show that money we collected from overseas Pakistanis is illegal. They are accusing party that collected money from fundraising and has credible audit reports.” For past four to five years, courts have been saying that audits of funds of all political parties should be conducted, Imran said. “But Election Commission of Pakistan knows that these parties raised money illegally and this is reason why it won’t investigate them,” he said. He said that same was being done in Toshakhana Reference, saying that all past prime ministers and presidents and people appointed to higher ranks got gifts, including Army Chief. “Investigate all of them,” Imran demanded, claiming that both cases were being used to disqualify him.
Moreover, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf secretary general Asad Umar said yesterday that a case was being made against the PTI to portray it as a 'threat' to Pakistan, adding that a rift was being created between the party and the Army.
