Gov Tessori visits textile exhibition, praises efforts of TDAP

KARACHI: Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori said that potential of Pakistan’s people and institutions worldwide is becoming clear through Texpo platform and cooperation of all stakeholders for growth and development of textile and leather industry. There need of hour is to focus attention on research and development, technology transfer and innovation.

On visit to Textile Exhibition. Chief Executive Trade Development Authority of Pakistan Zubair Motiwala, Secretary Trade Development of Pakistan Dr Farid briefed him about significant of event.

Governor met members of business community of different countries and inspected various stalls. Appreciating efforts of Trade Development Authority on successful exhibition he said that profitable enterprises of textile and leather sector of Pakistan are playing significant role in our national economy, millions of people associated with these sectors are working day and night. They are indispensable for economic development of country by working hard, these industries are playing an excellent role in highlighting skills of youth, in this context, agricultural sector of province has prominent position. Kamran Tessori said that current government will ensure sustainable productivity growth in any case. He added that objective of TEXPO 2023 is to ensure protection of our environment in face of climate change. Talking to media Tessori said that it is welcome sign that around 450 stalls in textile exhibition are participating that will help to introduce Pakistani textile products to world. Signing of contracts is welcomed. Governor said that since first day, I have been saying that if country is economically stable, then prosperity will come, adding that event of May 9 has united entire nation.

Meanwhile, Governor met well-known industrialist Aqeel Karim Dhedhi at his residence. In meeting, economic situation of country, measures to improve it, promotion of exports and other issues of mutual interest were discussed. Governor said that economic situation of country requires attention of all of us. He added that country has given us respect, fame and status. It is time to return country according to our potential. Aqeel Karim Dhedhi said that efforts of Governor for national unity are commendable.

On other hand Governor in message on Takbeer Day said that May 28 will always be remembered as day of creation of first Islamic nuclear power. Kamran Tessori said that May 28 is day of great joy for nation as on this day Pakistan became an invincible force in terms of defense. He said that world should put pressure on India to solve Kashmir issue. It should also be clear that peace is our desire but not weakness. United and determined to thwart.

Governor also met Muttahida Qaumi Movement Coordinating Committee member Waseem Aftab at his residence. He expressed his condolences to Waseem Aftab on death of his father and prayed for forgiveness of deceased, elevation of ranks and patience for family members.

Moreover Kamran Tessori attended funeral of Syed Ijaz Ahmed, elder brother of Muttahida Coordination Committee member Irshad Zafar and Central Organising Committee member Fayyaz Ahmed. Governor prayed for forgiveness of deceased and elevation of ranks and patience for family members.
