Karachi: Secretary General of Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) Syed Haider Hussain discussed promotion of hockey, organisation of Olympic qualifying tournament and other issues with Sindh Governor.

He said that holding World Hockey Competition in Pakistan after many years is welcome and measures to promote national sport are vital at this juncture. He said that there will be Olympic qualifying matches in January next year in which 8 teams from world will participate. He added that all possible measures are being taken to promote national game. Governor appreciated efforts of body.

Moreover, Abu Dhabi Ports UAE delegation met Governor. Delegation was led by Consul General Bakhit Atiq Al Rumithi. Governor said that fraternal relations between Pakistan and United Arab Emirates span many decades and these relations have proved to be beneficial for both people of countries. Mutual relations are getting further boost. Later, Consul General UAE sounded bell of hope and inspected ration bags of powerful Pakistan. Governor informed them about aim of Bell of Hope and distribution of free rations. Consul General said that efforts of Governor for people are worthy of praise.

Meanwhile, Jam Qaim Ali gave reception in honour of Governor Kamran Tessori. Consul Generals and Mayors of different countries attended event. Participants praised Governor’s public welfare initiatives, terming ‘Bell of Hope’, ration distribution and IT courses as exemplary initiatives. Governor said that he is grateful for words of support and encouragement from Consul Generals. Tessori said he feels proud to be given title of People’s Governor and assured  building more stronger connection with people under any circumstances.
