Gov Tessori felicitates Turkey on 100-year Republic Day

Karachi: Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori attended reception held to mark Turkey’s 100th-year Republic Day. Consul General of Turkey Kamal Sangu welcomed Governor. In celebration of Turkey’s 100th year, Sindh Governor cut cake along with Turkish Consul General. Governor Tessori congratulated government and people of Turkey and expressed good wishes. Diplomats, political and social figures of different countries were also in attendance in event.
Meanwhile, Governor said that efforts regarding health awareness for women are worthy of appreciation. He said that rate of breast cancer in Pakistan is higher than Asian countries. Attending PINKtober Women’s Festival Governor said that breast cancer is not incurable, it can be treated with timely diagnosis, examination and mammography. He said that services of women in our society cannot be forgotten, whether it is social service or business activities, politics or sports, women are in no way less than men. Governor said that all women who participated in it deserve congratulations for making pink ribbon symbolic of cancer from 5,000 cupcakes. Governor said that women need to be encouraged at all levels so that they can fully express their potential. Kamran Tessori requested mothers present there to help their daughters to move forward and to encourage girls even after marriage so that they can contribute to economic development of country. Governor said that let us all pledge to work together for prosperity of our beloved country. PINKtober Chairperson Shama Rashid thanked Governor for encouraging women and informed them in detail about aims and objectives of her organisation and future plans.
Moreover on Governor’s directive, distribution of ration bags to needy people was continued. Another 426 deserving people were given ration bags under ‘Mighty Pakistan’ programme. Governor said that distribution of ration bags will continue with support of well-wishers. So far more than 120 thousand needy people have been given ration bags.
