Gov Tessori discusses newspapers issues with CPNE delegation

Karachi: A delegation of Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors met Governor at Governor House. General Secretary of Council, Amir Mahmood led team. In meeting, problems faced by newspaper industry, non-payment of advertisement dues, role of newspapers and magazines and other important matters were discussed. Governor said that role of journalism in establishment and continuity of democracy cannot be forgotten. He said that newspapers and magazines are still reliable source of information, newspaper industry has been affected due to social media, but news of newspapers and magazines is still documentary evidence. He said that he will talk to relevant authorities to solve problems faced by newspaper industry. Dr. Jabbar Khattak, Ghulam Nabi Chandio, Maqsood Yousufi, Ejazul Haque, Anwar Sajdi, Saeed Khawar, Syed Mudassar and Mudassar Alam were included in delegation.

Meanwhile Governor visited Kebab House on Burns Road Food Street, Business Road. Governor said that mingling with common man is joy for him and as well as cause to listen their civic issues. I will not stop going to people. He said that common people can come to Governor House for iftar on all days of Ramadhan. In 5 days more than 25 thousand people have come to Governor House for iftar. He said that it is not practice to break contact with people after getting position. In this regard, I will go to one or other food street every day to meet people. Citizens at kebab house said that they are happy to have Governor in their midst in this atmosphere of suffocation.
