Gov Tessori approves Sindh Local Government (Third Amendment) Bill

Karachi: Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori approved Sindh Local Government (Third Amendment) Bill 2023. Bill has enacted legislation to amend Local Government Act 2013.

According to amendment, word inspector will be added in sub-section 3 of section 132 of Act. Inspectors appointed under sub-sections of section 136 will have power to impose fine up to 50 thousand rupees. Inspectors will be authorised to file case in concerned court for same offense committed repeatedly by same person. Concerned court will be fined up to 500,000 rupees.

There shall be option to impose fine and imprisonment for term which may extend to three years or both. Cases under this Act shall be tried within period of 30 days.
