Gov Sindh, Bangladesh HC discuss ways to foster bilateral relations

KARACHI: A meeting was held between the Governor of Sindh, Kamran Khan Tessori, and the High Commissioner of Bangladesh, Iqbal Hussain Khan, at the Governor House in Karachi.

The meeting aimed to strengthen bilateral relations between Pakistan and Bangladesh, with a focus on enhancing trade and cultural exchange.

During the meeting, Governor Tessori expressed his desire to increase trade and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries. He emphasized that Pakistan-Bangladesh relations have entered a new phase, with immense potential for cooperation in various fields.

High Commissioner Iqbal Hussain Khan reiterated Bangladesh's desire to see Pakistan as a strong and stable country in the region.  He proposed several initiatives, including increasing bilateral air operations, declaring Karachi and Chittagong as sister cities, and exploring opportunities for cultural exchange.

The High Commissioner also appreciated the Governor's initiatives aimed at improving the lives of the people of Sindh. He planted a tree in the lawn of the Governor House as part of the tree plantation campaign.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh, S.M. Mahbubul Alam, and other officials. The discussion marked a significant step forward in strengthening Pakistan-Bangladesh relations and exploring new avenues for cooperation.
