KARACHI: Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori approved Mass Transit Authority (Amendment) Bill 2023. Bill has enacted legislation to amend Mass Transit Act 2014, according to amendment, Mass Transit Bus Station, Depot Trespassing, travelling without ticket, causing any kind of damage to mass transit bus or obstructing its movement shall be considered as punishable offense and shall be punishable with fine as per rules.

According to amendment, if any person commits an offense under sub-section (2), operator shall be empowered to levy and collect prescribed fine and amount of fine shall be deposited in prescribed account head. If any person fails to submit fine in prescribed manner, he shall be deemed to have committed an offense under this Act and competent authority, officer or agent may file complaint against such person for recovery of fine in court of competent jurisdiction.
