Gold rates dip by Rs 1,900 to Rs 232,600 per tola

Karachi: Per tola price of 24 karat gold decreased by Rs 1,900 and was sold at Rs 232,600 compared to its sale at Rs 234,500 per tola on previous day.

Price of 10 grams of 24 karat gold also decreased by Rs 1,629 to Rs 199,417 from Rs 201,046 whereas price of 10 gram 22 karat gold went down to Rs 182,799 per tola from Rs 184,292, All Sindh Sarafa Jewellers Association reported. Price per tola and 10 grams of silver remained constant at Rs 2,800 and Rs 2,400.54 respectively. Price of gold in international market increased by $ 3 to $ 1,904 from $ 1,901, Association reported.

Meanwhile, imports of gold increased by 94.25 percent during first month of current fiscal year (July 2023) as compared to corresponding month of last year, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) reported.

 Gold imports during July 2023 were recorded at $ 1.986 million as compared to imports of $ 1.022 million during July 2022, according to PBS data.

 In terms of quantity, Pakistan imported 50 kilograms of gold during month under review as compared to imports of 16 kilograms last year, showing growth of 207.79 percent.
