KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan saw a significant rise on Tuesday, mirroring the global uptrend.

The price of gold per tola surged by Rs3,600, reaching Rs273,500, according to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewelers Sarafa Association (APGJSA). Similarly, the price of 10 grams of gold increased by Rs3,086, settling at Rs234,482. This follows a Rs2,500 rise on Monday, when the price per tola had reached Rs269,900. The increase in local gold prices coincided with a rise in international rates. On Tuesday, the global gold price climbed to $2,623 per ounce, up by $36 from the previous day, according to APGJSA. The price was buoyed by a weaker US dollar and market anticipation of the Federal Reserve’s stance on interest rates. Silver prices, however, remained stable at Rs3,250 per tola in the local market. Gold had recently reached an all-time high in Pakistan, touching Rs287,900 per tola last month.
