KARACHI: Price of gold per ounce rose by $ 10 in international bullion market, reaching $ 2,355, up from previous $ 2344 an ounce. Price of gold per ounce rose by $ 21, bringing new global price to $ 2,345 per ounce.

Local bullion markets saw rise in price of 24-carat gold, with rate increasing by Rs 1,000 per tola, bringing it to Rs 243,300 per tola.  Similarly, price of 10 grams of gold climbed by Rs 857, reaching Rs 208,590 per ten gram. In contrast, price of silver remained stable, with rate for one tola holding at Rs 2,850 and for 10 grams at Rs 2,443.41. Representatives from bullion market noted that due to decreased purchasing activities, local price of gold per tola is set Rs 3,000 below international rate.
