Global leadership affirms counter-terrorism support to Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: World community strongly condemned suicide bomb blast at masjid in Peshawar in which ninety people were martyred and many more wounded.

In their separate messages, world leaders affirmed their support to Pakistan against terrorism.

Extending his heartfelt condolences to families of victims and wishing prompt recovery to injured, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres reiterated world body’s solidarity with Pakistan in its efforts to address terrorism and violent extremism.

President of UN General Assembly Csaba Korosi in his message of condemnation said targeting people as they pray is truly horrid and cowardly attack.

OIC Secretary General Hissein Brahim Taha expressed his condemnation of this heinous act and reassured organisation’s support for Pakistan in tackling terrorism.

Gulf Cooperation Council Secretary General affirmed to stand with Pakistan in confronting terrorism and extremists.

Saudi Arabia, while strongly condemning terrorist attack also reiterated its resolve to stand with Pakistan against all kinds of violence, extremism and terrorism.

European Union has condemned suicide attack on innocent faithful in masjid in Peshawar Police Lines. Spokesperson EU said EU stands with Pakistan in war on terror. There is no room for hatred and extremism in our societies.
