GB Gov, Dr Alvi discuss wheat subsidy, other issues

ISLAMABAD: Governor of Gilgit-Baltistan Syed Mehdi Shah called on President Dr Arif Alvi and discussed overall situation in region including wheat subsidy and other issues. In meeting, they deliberated over matters related to Baltistan University and Skardu, President House statement said.

President Dr Alvi told Governor that he had taken up matter of wheat subsidy with caretaker Prime Minister Kakar and interim Finance Minister and expressed hope that problems would be resolved soon. Elected members of GB Council had also called on President on Thursday to discuss wheat subsidy and other matters. President Alvi had assured delegation to take up their issues at relevant forums.
