Gandapur handed over to Lahore police on transit remand

BAKKAR: A court in Bhakkar handed over PTI leader and former Minister Ali Amin Gandapur to Lahore police on one-day transit remand. Senior Civil Judge Muhammad Asif Niaz pronounced decision reserved. A team of Lahore police arrived in Bhakkar took Ali Amin Gandapur into custody from local police.
Gandapur was wanted by Lahore police too in terrorism case. Lahore police had already completed all arrangements and paperwork for demanding transit remand of Gandapur from local court in Bhakkar.
On Wednesday morning, Gandapur was produced in Bhakkar court amid tight security arrangements where Judge Asif Niaz granted him bail in one case, directing PTI leader to submit Rs 50,000 surety bond.
Judge Asif Niaz announced decision in case pertaining to Gandapur’s resorting to firing on Dagal police checkpost. Though the Bhakkar police sought physical remand of Gandapur but Judge Asif Niaz decided otherwise. Lawyers of PTI’s legal team were also present in court and demanded dismissal of case from court.
