Argentina won their third World Cup in an extraordinary fashion, beating France 4-2 in penalty shootout after Lionel Messi scored twice in 3-3 draw that featured hat-trick for Kylian Mbappe as holders recovered from 2-0 down after 80 minutes.

It was an incredible night of drama and fluctuating fortunes, delivering one of all-time great finals to cap wonderful tournament. Also present at venue in Qatar to witness Argentina’s historic win were Pakistani and Bollywood stars, many of whom shared glimpses of behind-the-scenes happenings on their social media handles. From Sajal Aly and Humayun Saeed to Deepika Padukone and Kartik Aryan, several kept their fans updated and entertained on Instagram.

Deepika Padukone unveiled FIFA World Cup trophy alongside Iker Casillas, before final match. Pictures of actress and former Spanish goalkeeper saw her donning white shirt, topped with statement jacket. She paired it with black tulle skirt and high-heeled boots. Deepika walked to field of Lusail Stadium alongside Iker, who held golden trophy. Deepika is ambassador of luxury brand Louis Vuitton, which made trophy case for prestigious Jules Rimet award.

Actress and dancer Nora Fatehi gave an electrifying live performance at closing ceremony ahead of match. Nora joined Balqees, Rahma Riad and Manal to perform their song, Light The Sky. And in one of greatest crossovers of all time, celebrated England player Wayne Rooney sat down with Bollywood’s King Khan, Shah Rukh Khan to talk about football, Bollywood and actor’s upcoming offering, Pathaan.–Agencies
