KARACHI: Karachi Dairy and Cattle Farmers Association has jacked up fresh milk price by Rs 20 per litre to Rs 200 a litre in city. City administration and provincial authorities are completely silent over recent action. Dairy and Cattle Farmers Association has said that they were compelled to increase fresh milk price due to an increase in fares of vehicles used for transportation of milk and in rates of dairy farm items.

In month of March, earlier this year, President Dairy and Cattle Farmers Association Shakur Umar Gujjar hinted that milk price can go upto Rs 200 per litre in Karachi. He said prices of electricity, medicines, gas, livestock, fodder and other essential items are increasing day by day and it is hard to sale fresh milk at present rate. Gujjar said price of fresh milk will further cross rate in 2023. Price of fresh milk can be reduced if PM Shehbaz Sharif slaps ban on import of essential items, Gujjar added.
