Four cops martyred in Lakki Marwat terrorist attack

Lakki Marwat: Terrorist attack on police station in Lakki Marwat  martyred four policemen, including Deputy Superintendent of Police Iqbal Mohmand and injured six other cops.

Police spokesperson said that terrorists launched an attack on Saddar Police Station of Lakki Marwat which led to an intense exchange of fire between police party and terrorists.

As news of attack was received by DSP Mohmand, he, along with his team rushed to attack site to assist embattled cops. However, DSP’s car was hit by remote-controlled roadside bomb near Pirwala Morr, which martyred DSP and three of his gunmen identified as Karamat, Waqar and Ali Marjan.

On other hand, six cops were injured during attack at police station. Injured cops were identified as Head Constable Farooq, Constable Gultiaz, Amanatullah, Asghar, Sardar Ali, and Arif.

As per spokesperson, terrorist fled after attack while police launched search operation to apprehend them. Meanwhile, funeral prayers for martyred policemen were offered at Police Lines and attended by senior police officials and community leaders.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed profound grief and sorrow over martyrdom of four police personnel. In tweet, PM said the sacrifices of police officers in war against terrorism were unforgettable. PM prayed that Allah Almighty grant martyrs a place in heaven and speedy recovery to injured.
