LONDON: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called out former Chief Justice of Pakistan Saqib Nisar for being an “Agent” of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf claiming that he served Imran Khan-led party as an activist during his tenure at Supreme Court. He claimed that audio leak of ex-CJP’s son Najam Saqib implicates him in conspiracy to bring PTI Chief Khan to power. Son of former Chief Justice was heard speaking to PTI candidate, Abuzar Chadhar, regarding issuance of party tickets for upcoming Punjab elections.

PM Shehbaz’s comments came while talking to journalists in London where he is currently on a visit due to his attendance for coronation of King Charles III. Prime Minister also met his brother and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz supremo Nawaz Sharif during his visit.

He said that Nisar had played key role in disqualification of PML-N supremo on completely baseless and false allegations and ran vindictive campaign against their party in order to bring Khan into power through rigged election he presided over. PM Shehbaz said ex-top judge of apex court used suo motu notices for his personal and political interests and not for public interest. He added that audio leak of former CJP’s son is proof that conspiracy was hatched to bring PTI Chief to power in which Nisar himself was also involved. He stated that House committee had called ex-Chief Justice and his son to answer questions about their involvement in sale of tickets for Rs 120 million.

Meanwhile, Shehbaz Sharif taking to twitter said that 5th Trilateral Foreign Ministers  Dialogue held in Islamabad underscored unwavering consensus of Pakistan and China to work for peaceful, stable and prosperous Afghanistan in interest of Afghan people.

Unlocking economic potential of region remains contingent on restoration of regional peace and stability, he said. He said that investing in peace and stability through collective and sustained focus will ensure win-win outcomes, including success of initiatives aimed at greater regional connectivity and socio-economic progress.
