FO urges foreign powers to avoid interfering in internal affairs

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Office urged foreign governments to avoid meddling in country’s internal matters, emphasising that Pakistan is capable of addressing its issues.
During weekly press briefing, Foreign Office spokesperson asserted that people of Pakistan possess capacity to resolve their internal challenges independently. Spokesperson also expressed Pakistan’s concerns over several international issues, highlighting ongoing crisis in Middle East and South Asia. Regarding Middle East, spokesperson condemned continued Israeli actions in Gaza, reporting that over 40,000 innocent civilians have been killed. Addressing situation in South Asia, spokesperson condemned recent violence in Indian-occupied Kashmir, where four Kashmiris were reportedly martyred. Spokesperson responded to queries about World Health Organisation’s advisory on monkeypox, clarifying that Ministry of National Health would be appropriate body to address such concerns.
On global matters, spokesperson voiced Pakistan’s concerns over rising tensions between Russia and Ukraine, urging both nations to resolve their disputes peacefully. It stressed that Pakistan has no involvement in recent events in Bangladesh and affirmed that country respects Bangladesh’s sovereignty.
