FO expresses sorrow over loss of pilgrims in Iran bus accident

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Office expressed deep sorrow over tragic loss of Pakistani pilgrims in recent bus accident in Iran.
Spokesperson for Foreign Office extended heartfelt condolences and sympathies to families of deceased, who were primarily residents of Sindh province. In response to tragedy, spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has taken swift action, instructing Pakistani Consulate to assess situation on ground.
Consul General has been tasked with providing immediate medical assistance to those injured in accident, she updated. Dar has issued directives to ensure prompt repatriation of deceased back to Pakistan. In line with these orders, Crisis Management Unit has been activated to oversee and facilitate process. Pakistani Ambassador and Consulate in Zahedan are in constant communication with Iranian authorities to coordinate necessary arrangements. Foreign Office reassured public that all possible measures are being taken to support affected families during this difficult time and to bring remains of deceased back home as quickly as possible. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Iran Mudassir shared that 28 Pakistani pilgrims were killed and 23 injured in Yazd bus accident. “I have no words to express grief but I can assure that I will do my very best for repatriation of those who passed away,” he shared on his official X account.
