FO calls for immediate cessation of bombing by Israel, ending siege of Gaza

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has called for immediate cessation of bombing by Israel and ending siege of Gaza. Pakistan stance on Palestine has never changed. Pakistan wants unconditional ceasefire. Kashmir issue should be resolved as per UN resolutions. Pakistan has not supplied any arms to Ukraine, this was said by Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch in weekly press briefing here.
Pakistan has hoped that upcoming special emergency session of UN General Assembly will play its role in bringing about an urgent and unconditional ceasefire in Gaza and condemn plans for ethnic cleansing of Palestinian people.
Spokesperson regretted that despite rising death toll of Palestinians and flagrant violations of international humanitarian laws, UN Security Council failed to even call for ceasefire and put an end to carnage in Gaza.
Reiterating Pakistan’s full and unequivocal support for Palestinian brothers and sisters, spokesperson urged backers of Israel to play their role in bringing an end to atrocities against Palestinians and take effective steps to lift siege of Gaza.
She said international community must also ensure that Israeli violence and bombing campaign does not spread and engulf entire Middle East.
When asked about imposition of sanctions by US on three Chinese companies for providing missile related items to Pakistan, spokesperson said that in past also we have seen entities added to entity list on suspicion.
To question, spokesperson said Pakistan has always called for peace and dialogue including on disputed territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
She said current situation demands that New Delhi ensures that people of Indian illegally Jammu and Kashmir are able to live in peace without intimidation.
When asked about repatriation of illegal foreign nationals, she said this decision has been taken as per our national laws to ensure safety and security of Pakistan. She said we have also informed Afghan authorities that this policy is not Afghan specific.
