FM Bilawal lays foundation stone for new Embassy in Baghdad

Baghdad: Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari laid foundation stone for new Pakistani Embassy here. Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fawad Hussain also accompanied him during ceremony.
Pakistani Ambassador to Iraq Ahmed Amjad Ali and Iraqi Ambassador to Pakistan Hamid Abbas Lafta were also present. Bilawal welcomed construction of Pakistan Embassy Complex in Baghdad as positive step. Foreign Minister is in Iraq on an official visit. Earlier this week, Bilawal and Iraqi President Dr Abdul Latif Jamal had appreciated trajectory of bilateral relations between two countries and agreed to expand mutually beneficial cooperation. Separately, Foreign Minister also called on Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al Sudani and conveyed best wishes to leadership and people of Iraq. They agreed to further strengthen multidimensional cooperation and to cement brotherly ties between two countries.
Later, Bilawal also met several senior Iraqi officials and discussed with them ways to enhance bilateral relations in various fields. Meanwhile, Bilawal Bhutto returned home from three-day trip to Republic of Iraq where he was accompanied by several staff members from Ministry of Foreign Affairs and others. PPP Information Secretary Faisal Karim Kundi in statement said primary purpose of his visit was to strengthen relationship between Pakistan and Iraq so that Pakistani people can benefit from economic cooperation, easier travel, and security cooperation.
