FM Bilawal felicitates KSA, Iranian counterparts on historic pact

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari held separate telephonic conversations with counterparts of Saudi Arabia, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud and Iran Hossein Amir Abdollahian and extended felicitations on restoration of relations between two countries. During telephonic conversation with Saudi Foreign Minister, FM Bilawal congratulated him and appreciated Saudi leadership for this positive development.
Bilawal Bhutto said agreement would pave way for initiation of meaningful dialogue for peace, security, trade and development in entire region. Reaffirming fraternal relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, two reiterated their mutual commitment to further expand and diversify bilateral strategic partnership. They stressed vital role of high-level exchanges for cementing ties between two countries. In telephonic conversation with Iranian counterpart, FM Bilawal extended warm felicitations on signing of Joint Trilateral Statement. He termed resumption of diplomatic relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran as testament to wisdom and farsightedness of leadership of two countries. He commended important role played by China in facilitating this process. Underscoring Pakistan’s close fraternal relations with both Iran and Saudi Arabia, he stressed that renewal of diplomatic ties between two brotherly countries would serve as harbinger for peace, prosperity and development for entire region.
Taking note of upward trajectory in Pakistan-Iran relations, two foreign ministers expressed their resolve to further intensify cooperation across entire spectrum of bilateral ties.
