ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will officially attend Tashkent, Uzbekistan 26th meeting of Council of Ministers (COM) of Economic Cooperation Organisation (ECO) on January 23-24.Bilawal Bhutto will address meeting on theme ‘Year of Strengthening Connectivity’, according to Foreign Office spokesperson.

Foreign Minister will address ECO council of ministers’ meeting and separately hold bilateral meetings with participating ministers of member states and other dignitaries on sidelines of event.

Council of Ministers is policy-making forum of Economic Cooperation Organisation that approves decisions and annual work plan of Organisation. 25th COM was held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan in November 2021.

As founding member, Pakistan remains firmly committed to ECO which aims to promotion of effective regional cooperation, with special focus on communications, trade, culture and connectivity.
