KARACHI: Sindh Rangers along with authorities demolished five illegally operated water hydrants in Nazimabad. In an effort to combat illegal activities involving illegal water hydrants, joint operation was carried out by K-Electric, Water Corporation and Rangers in Nazimabad.

During operation, it was revealed that these illegal hydrants had been involved not only in theft of electricity which allegedly consumed more than 350,000 units of electricity but were also involved in theft of water resources. Crackdown was primarily focused on curbing electricity theft which was taking place through illegal connections linked to water hydrants, after which Rangers officials took action and dismantle all five illegal water hydrants.

Last week, Water Corporation along with Sindh Rangers launched operation and sealed five illegally operated water hydrants across Karachi. During raid, operators of illegal faucet were arrested while owners of these hydrants were on run, meanwhile, police officials were searching to arrest them.
