First session of KMC Council held under Mayor Murtaza Wahab, adopts several resolutions

Karachi: First session of KMC Council was held in City Council Hall of KMC building under chairmanship of Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab. Deputy Mayor Karachi Salman Abdullah Murad was present. Two condolence and one condemnation resolutions were passed in meeting. Condolences were offered on death of member City Council Farida Majeed and former Minister Sher Muhammad Baloch and prayers for forgiveness were offered for deceased while resolution condemning desecration of Holy Quran in Sweden was passed in which council demanded that Ambassador of Sweden be expelled from country and strict action be taken against those responsible for it.
Addressing meeting, Murtaza Wahab welcomed all members of City Council and expressed hope that all members will work for betterment of city. He said that we will work in every UC and there will be equal treatment with all members, we will work with everyone including workers of Jamaat-e-Islami.
We will connect hearts, make Karachi cradle of peace, we want to solve problems of Karachi with understanding, People's Party, Jamaat-e-Islami, Muslim League (N), Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and other parties have to serve Karachi together, he said that time will tell who served Karachi and who did politics.
Mayor asked members present in House whether they want development of Karachi. Want to solve water problems? Want to get rid of land mafia? He said that media is seeing that we want to hold meeting so that problems of Karachi can be solved, occupation can be ended from parks, drains of can be cleaned and roads and streets can be built. Raising slogans does not solve problems, our political training is visible to Karachi, we want to improve Karachi, he said. I and Deputy Mayor are with you, I want to tell that Karachi is our priority, water sewage and roads is priority, will fix parks will, settle splendor, me and Salman and you are all equal and will try to have work in every UC. I am mayor of all, mayor of Karachi and deputy mayor of opposition members too.
At introductory meeting of City Council at invitation of Mayor, PTI Parliamentary leader Asad Aman, Muslim League (N) Parliamentary leader Muhammad Feroze, Jamaat-e-Islami Parliamentary leader Hafiz Naeemur Rehman and Pakistan Peoples' Party Parliamentary leader Najmi Alam also addressed.
